PENRO-Dinagat Islands celebrates People’s Day 

The Department of Environment press18 2016and Natural Resources (DENR) has declared every Wednesday as “People’s Day” in all its offices nationwide to allow officials and employees to address public concerns and queries. This activity brings frontline services closer to the people and to ensure the effective implementation of its environmental programs.

Pursuant to this, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office - Dinagat Islands (PENRO-PDI) conducted the first People’s Day activity last August 24, 2016, held in front of the PENR Office with the theme, “Bringing DENR services closer to the people”.

The said activity commenced at 8:00 in the morning with a rationale about People’s Day by the PENR Officer of Dinagat Islands – Mr. Agapito T. Patubo, MPA.  Thereafter, a briefing on the conduct of the said activity was done by Forester Nathaniel E. Racho, Chief, TSD and Mr. Ernie D. Villanueva, Chief, MSD, respectively.

            Right after the discussion of rationale and briefer, the PENR Office started accepting clients. There were a total of 34 clients comprising ten (10) males and twenty-four (24) females. Each of the clients were asked to answer the provided client satisfactory survey sheet after their concerns and queries were catered. In the survey questionnaire, they were asked to rate the service given by the office and how responsive the personnel of PENRO-Dinagat are. Also, they can express their recommendations/suggestions thru writing it on the survey sheet for the improvement of PENRO-PDI in implementing its services and programs.
